The Inside and Outside of Making Art

This studio session has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience.

This studio session provides artists with a hands-on making and an in-depth conversation/exploratory experience. It is an “open studio” and an “in progress” class. Artists can work in any medium, ideally from a body of work already in progress. In-depth conversation means a willingness to enter conversation with others about how we work, get past problems, fear, self-repetition or other issues. Conversation will involve personal inquiry but equally will explore art history, artists’ writings, cultural concerns, and meaning-formation in a safe environment befitting serious exploration and experimentation. Prerequisite: two to three years of concertedly making art on a regular basis; at least a small body of work already made.
