Instructors

The Art Colony is committed to contracting a highly qualified roster of instructors who demonstrate strong artistic credentials and teaching proficiency. Art Colony instructors are actively engaged in advancing themselves and their work professionally and are often key contributors to their field of inquiry.

Many Art Colony instructors are college professors and have artistic credentials that include: top grants and fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB), Bush Foundation, and Jerome Foundation; awards such as Lifetime Achievements, Minnesota Book Awards, and Master Status in acclaimed societies such as Plein Air Painters of America and Watercolor USA; exhibitions in prestigious venues such as Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA), Walker, Smithsonian, and globally; and are highlighted in national publications ranging from Architect magazine, American Craft Council Magazine, International Artist magazine, and Metalsmith magazine.

Artists who are interested in teaching can contact the Artistic Director at programs@grandmaraisartcolony.org.
