Make an Udu Drum (Ages 9 – 12)
Explore the percussive elements of clay. Karin will explain the origin of the Udu drum, a clay, side-hole pot hand drum, and students will listen to Udu recordings as they use molds and hand-building techniques to make their own unique drum and base. Students will also add texture and decorations and projects will be ready for pick-up within two weeks. Please note that drums will be left unglazed for optimal sound quality.
