Earth Turtles (Ages 6 – 8)

Create an earth turtle in honor of Earth Day! Use the four elements (Earth, Water, Air/Wind, Fire) as inspiration for your clay turtle creations and discover turtle fun facts, as well as turtle symbolism in other cultures. Students will start with a pinch pot for the shell and add attachments for head, legs, and tail, then paint with colorful underglazes. Turtles will be glazed, fired, and ready for pick-up within two weeks.
