Surface Enrichment: Reticulation and Other Textures

Expand your technical jewelry know-how and learn a variety of surface enrichment methods through the process of reticulation, in which metal is repeatedly heated, quenched, and pickled. Danny will lead students through the method of pouring an ingot of alloyed silver specific to the reticulation process using scrap silver and copper. Then, students will roll the ingot down to the desired thickness, depletion gild the metal and finally, reticulate the surface. Students will also have the chance to experiment with hammered textures and various fusing techniques.
