Site + Studio: Experimental Approaches for Drawing and Painting from the Landscape

Beginning and experienced artists alike are invited to join this class focused on process-based approaches to drawing and painting from the landscape spanning on-site location work and experimentation in the studio. Investigations are designed to help those starting out become more familiar with the vocabulary of drawing and painting while also providing novel approaches that can expand an established studio practice. Topics include strategies for mark-making, composition, and color. Through the use of plotting cutters and specialized software, students will experience how to turn their own drawings into custom stencils for creative layering techniques.
