Cracking the Kiln Code

Malcom will teach students the basics of glass cutting and cold-work, layout and design, firing schedules, and tricks of the trade. As a methods course, this class teaches students to work in series and gives them the skills to pursue their own vision in kiln-formed glass. Projects will include basic mold-making, lapidary work, as well as free-form experimentation, metal inclusions, and how to work with specialty glass, with an emphasis on color chemistry.
