Carborundum and Collagraph Printmaking 21Pr8-3

Discover the playful experimentation of collagraph! Collagraph printmaking is a versatile print form where textured plates are made from scratch that can be printed in intaglio or relief styles. Materials such as carborundum are applied to the plate’s surface, which adds a painterly, atmospheric feel to the print. Students will explore plate-making techniques, inking approaches, and how to pull finished prints. The open-ended nature of this print medium also allows for collaging processes and collaborative printing.

REGISTRATION NOTES

This class must meet minimum enrollment by July 16, 2021 at 4 PM. Please register before this date to ensure your spot.

Due to current covid-19 safety protocol, class enrollment will be limited to allow for physical distancing, etc. Students are encouraged to register early. Should you find that the class you want to attend is full, we encourage you to get on our waitlist and, as safety standards continue to evolve, we anticipate that additional class spaces will be made available.

Should COVID 19 affect our ability to meet in person this class will pivot to a shortened virtual class that would be demonstration/discussion focused. More details will be forthcoming.
