Marcie Rendon

Marcie Rendon is a citizen of the White Earth Nation. Her debut novel, Murder on the Red River (Cinco Puntos Press, 2017) won the National Pinckley Award for best debut crime novel 2018 and the Spur Finalist in the Western Writers of America 2018 Best Western Contemporary Novel category. Two nonfiction children’s books are Pow Wow Summer (MN Historical Press, 2013) and Farmer’s Market: Families Working Together (CarolRhoda, 2011). She has been recognized as one of 50 over 50 Change-makers by MN AARP and POLLEN, 2018. With four published plays she is also the creative mind behind Raving Native Theater productions which produces community created productions and other Native playwright scripts. She received the Loft’s 2017 Spoken Word Immersion Fellowship with Diego Vazquez for their work with women incarcerated in county jails. Most importantly, she is a mother and grandmother.
