Guillermo Cuellar

Guillermo Cuellar has been making wheel-thrown stoneware pots since 1980. Originally from Venezuela, early on he was inspired by the beautiful handwork of the native Venezuelan Indians and the way their pieces brought people together, integrating art within daily life. He moved to Shafer, Minnesota, in 2005, and is now part of the St. Croix River Valley community of potters. He finds exquisite beauty in pots made for daily use in the home, especially those used for preparing and sharing food.
