Virtual Mentorship with Emily Belknap

We are proud to continue offering virtual mentorship opportunities to help artists continue their practice at home with the support of a mentor. Mentors can provide input, accountability, and additional direction or resources. Mentoring sessions are one-hour in length, tailored to address your aesthetic, professional, and craft questions. Upon registration, students will receive a survey to select a mentor subject and tell us more about their needs.

Emily is available to connect with artists on the following topics:

  • Portfolio Review
  • Input and guidance on current in-progress work
  • Discussion of materials and supplies
  • Crafting an artist statement or bio

Emily Belknap is a sculptor working in a broad range of media and techniques. Drawing from observation is a critical component of her method. In her work, she examines boundaries in landscape, constructed and natural, tangible and immaterial. She received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 and her BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2007. Belknap’s exhibition history includes, among others, the Mary L. Nohl Fellowship exhibition at Inova Gallery in Milwaukee and a solo exhibition at the Chazen Museum of Art in Madison. emilysbelknap.com
