Virtual Drawing Class: Composition in Action 21V-D4-1
Students will use their own drawing practice to consider the elements that make up a composition. Shannon will teach a variety of observational drawing techniques, and then guide students into using their imagination and abstraction to develop dynamic compositional studies. Emphasis will be placed on examining theories of composition in the study of art and design. Each week will focus on a compositional theme, allowing participants the opportunity to practice how elements such as line, direction, point of view, or the rule of odds can be considered in drawing. Students will create studies varying from observational contour drawings to fully formed compositions and Shannon will share artworks both contemporary and historical.
