VIRTUAL: Color Layering with Markers

Sarah will take you on a deep dive into the world of color and color layering,  which is specifically helpful when working with color limited mediums like markers or colored  pencils and requires a different approach to color than one would use with mixable mediums. This class will include multiple worksheets of fully drawn subjects that can be printed out on  drawing paper for you to use throughout the course. Sarah will cover the basics of color theory,  and then focus on the layering of dark colors, light colors, and bold colors since all take slightly  different approaches. Finally, everything covered in this class will be put together to color one  final image together. By the end of this course you will have several beautifully colored  drawings and feel equipped to navigate complex color layering with markers and colored  pencils.

Sarah’s three virtual classes have been built together so that  if you take more than one, many of the supplies and specific marker colors will overlap with one  another and will not require a large re-purchase of markers.

** If you choose a different and more affordable marker brand be sure they have a large range  in dark light and bold colors- and variance in light mid and bold variations of each.

A note on the markers: you can purchase much cheaper marker sets that have a much  broader range on amazon etc. These are great if you are just getting your feet wet, just be  certain that if you do this you are getting sets with a broad range of light mid and dark tones in  each color. Also be sure to pair it with hardy paper. Cheaper sets tend to ruin papers more  easily when blending many colors together.
