The Water Cycle: Sublimation: Writing in Place

We are interacting with language and, in effect, writing constantly. We perceive and think in words everywhere we go. There are natural steps from this mental process to putting things down in poetic form. Moheb will provide some simple writing prompts to get students writing in place, on the shores of the Big Lake. The second part of this class will focus on mark making and taking language into the natural landscape, as students help Moheb test a larger project—a “poem of sublime proportion”—of 50+ lines embedded in 50+ Great Lakes places as 50+ land art sculptures.
