Summer Art Space: Surface Design: Shibori Bandanas (Ages 8 – 12)

Shibori is the Japanese art of planned tie dye patterns. The word bandana come from the Indian word Bandhani and the Indian tradition of tie dye resist fabrics in indigo and red madder. Unlike tie dye of the 1960s where rubber bands were used, Shibori and Bandhani use the tight folds created by carefully placed running stitches to resist the dye. Students will experiment on small scarves with several patterns and colors. Bring a thimble if you have one!

If you sign up for all of the Art Space sessions you will receive a $10 discount card.
