Painting the Wild Places
Join Dave to paint outdoors and learn new strategies to capture the essence of wild places while staying at Bearskin Lodge, located at historic mid-Gunflint Trail. A class for all experience levels, Dave will provide a lot of demonstrations with options to observe or head out on your own. Just think of being able to focus solely on your painting from sunrise to sunset, and even after dark. Need a break? Go to your private room or hang in the lodge or go for a paddle. Each day will focus on a different setting, including woods, water, sky, and more, looking specifically at how to tackle challenging elements that come with painting outdoors. Campfires and shared evening meals will provide for time to socialize and discuss all things relevant to the artist’s life and livelihood. This class is open to students working in acrylic, oil or watercolor. Students will stay at Bearskin Lodge for the duration of the class and lodging is included in the price for four nights. Cost of meals is not included in the listed fee. See the supply list for full details.
