NonFest Virtual Class: Poetry and History 21LA11-6
This class is part of the North Shore Readers and Writers NonFest, but has pivoted to a virtual class that will take place over Zoom.
Please visit the landing page here for a full description of the two NonFest tracks.
Read, discuss, and write from poems by contemporary poets that evoke and invoke history in various ways. Histories, whether personal, societal, or a combination thereof, often ask to be re-examined and even healed through the power of language, symbols, images and sharing with our fellow human beings. There will be prompts during every session designed to encourage students’ subconsciousness to surface what matters most, and what is unspoken that yearns to be seen and heard. Craft concerns and ideas about technique and artistic choices will be folded into the lectures, discussions, and prompts.
