Metal Casting with Recyclable Molds 21S8-2

Explore making small cast bronze sculptures using ancient methods and learn to mold small wax patterns with clay and other natural materials following Indian, African, Meso-American, and Japanese techniques. The molds will be fired with charcoal and cast in bronze. Students can expect to make two or three small works and develop sculptural skills, including wax working, clay molding, melting metals, finishing, and patination of metals. Please note this class will be meeting at Mueller Studio in Lutsen.

REGISTRATION NOTES

This class must meet minimum enrollment by August 1, 2021 at 4 PM. Please register before this date to ensure your spot.

Due to current covid-19 safety protocol, class enrollment will be limited to allow for physical distancing, etc. Students are encouraged to register early. Should you find that the class you want to attend is full, we encourage you to get on our waitlist and, as safety standards continue to evolve, we anticipate that additional class spaces will be made available.

This class largely meets outdoors. Should COVID 19 affect our ability to meet in person this class will be canceled.
