Metal Casting with Recyclable Molds

Explore making small cast bronze sculptures using ancient methods and learn to mold small wax patterns with clay and other natural materials following Indian, African, Meso-American, and Japanese techniques. The molds will be fired with charcoal and cast in bronze. Students can expect to make two or three small works and develop sculptural skills, including wax working, clay molding, melting metals, finishing, and patination of metals.
