Eco-friendly Printmaking Studio
When established in 2005, the Art Colony printmaking studio was one of the first eco-friendly print studios in the Midwest. As of 2022, our printmaking studio was relocated to Studio 17, increasing the amount of workspace and functionality. It remains eco-friendly.
The printmaking studio is available for exclusive and group residencies.
Independent residents are allotted a 750 square foot studio space and access to the following equipment:
Studio Equipment:
- Takach 40 x 72-inch etching press
- Vandercook Number 4 proof press
- Copper etching facility
- UV exposure unit & light box
- Vent hood for aquatint
- Wash out basin sink
- Paper soaking station
2023 Self-guided residency rates, based on a 5-7 day week:
- 1 week | $180
- 2 weeks | $355
- 3 weeks | $530
- 4 weeks | $715
- One-time $50 cleaning fee for 1 – 2 week residencies and one-time $100 cleaning fee for 3 to 4 week residencies
Cook County resident artists receive a 10% discount.
2023 Group residency rates, based on a 5 to 7 day week:
- Up to 3 artists total can work in this space
- There is a $65/week charge for each additional artist
