VIRTUAL Demonstration: No Press, No Problem: Printing Woodcuts by Hand

Learn to carve and print woodcuts using the Japanese Kento-mark. These notches are carved directly into the surface of the woodblock about to be printed. Knowing how to use this technique allows for perfect paper registration when printing multiple blocks/colors. Michael’s demonstration will include printing multiple blocks together, discussing paper, and techniques of printing without needing to use a press.
