NonFest: Memory and Poetry 21LA11-5
This class is part of the North Shore Readers and Writers NonFest.
Please visit the landing page here for a full description of the two NonFest tracks.
While exploring different facets of memory, students will create new poems that draw from their own personal storehouses. Most of the time will be spent creating new work and responding to works in progress. Joyce will lead students through an exploration of thinking about how memory works, finding different facets of the remembering process, and using discussion and exploration to find and shape material into poems. There is no “required” text, but Joyce will share a variety of relevant work with the class, and students are asked to bring a poem that interests them.
