NonFest: Elements of Creative Nonfiction and Memoir 21LA11-2
This class is part of the North Shore Readers and Writers NonFest.
Please visit the landing page here for a full description of the two NonFest tracks.
Do you have a story from life that you’re eager to write? Join Kathryn to bring your story to life and study foundational elements of memoir and personal essay writing. Through close readings of works by Anne Boyer, Victoria Blanco, Kazim Ali, Edward McPherson, and others that explore the human condition in myriad ways, Kathryn will teach you to write vivid prose inspired by life that really hooks readers. Together, we’ll read-as-writers and write from prompts in class. You’ll leave with a greater knowledge of setting, dialogue, narrative structure, scene, and voice, and other core aspects of creative nonfiction.
