NonFest: Fiction and Self in Short 21LA11-3

This class is part of the North Shore Readers and Writers NonFest.

Spend a week writing in the space between lived experience and fiction and gain a deeper appreciation for the cross pollination between the two. Students will focus on short genres–which can mean flash fiction, flash memoir, or a section or scene of a longer piece. Scott will lead students to explore the overlap between fiction and memoir, which have similar needs for storytelling and character. Students are welcome to arrive with work (or excerpts) they are ready to share, or to start something new and will complete one short work by the end of the week.

REGISTRATION NOTES

This class must meet minimum enrollment by October 4, 2021 at 4 pm. Please register before this date to ensure your spot.

Due to current covid-19 safety protocol, class enrollment will be limited to allow for physical distancing, etc. Students are encouraged to register early. Should you find that the class you want to attend is full, we encourage you to get on our waitlist and, as safety standards continue to evolve, we anticipate that additional class spaces will be made available.

Should covid-19 affect our ability to meet in person this class will pivot to a virtual class for the same duration of time.
