Building the Travel Journal: Art, Craft, and Poetry
Students will learn journal construction techniques by making a 7 x 9-inch hard-bound travel journal that allows users to remove and replace pages. Along with making the journal, students will also explore the practices of Sumi-e mark making and suminigashi paper marbling. The products made during this component will be used to decorate and create the journal covers and end papers. Last but not least, students will explore Haiku to engage in the process of creating journal entries.
