Relief Patterns and Altered Forms

Learn to unify your pottery shapes and surfaces by carving relief patterns, exploring imagery, and altering wheel-thrown pottery shapes. Students will compose unique, hand-built vessels and learn reductive pottery forming techniques that instill a sculptural quality within their work. Each day Peter will focus on specific concepts that build upon each other and students will learn self-critiquing skills as well as go for class walks to connect with the North Shore landscape. Class will culminate with a potluck and bisque fire.
